Here's what you can expect from us and how we can Hotel Roanoke guests. 

 

​1) We've partnered with the best local tour, recreation and activity providers in our region. We know our city and region!  We'll match you with the ideal adventure.

 

2) ​We'll do the leg work.  We'll contact the outfitter, facility or provider on your behalf to check on availability and arrange details.  

3) We'll provide you a confirmation, which will include your Hotel Roanoke Priority Guest Code via email and/or text. It's that simple!

4) Present your Hotel Roanoke Priority Guest Code upon arrival.  You'll pay the provider directly upon arrival. 


There are no added costs for our service.

KAKAYING 

Paddle the Roanoke River from a sit on top kayak. We provide rentals and shuttles to get you on the water for a day of fun. Our most popular trip is a 6 mile stretch from Salem VA back to Roanoke Mountain Adventures, typically giving boaters 2.5 – 3.5 hours on the water depending upon water levels. This stretch of river has lots of class I rapids with some class II rapids depending upon water levels. It can be suited to beginners but basic paddling maneuvers are necessary to navigate down the river. There are various river features and hazards along the way. 

 

Includes: Kayak, Paddle,

Personal Floatation Device (PFD) and Dry Bag. 

 

Single Kayak Rental    

1/2 Day (4 hours) – $28.00

Full Day – $38.00

Plus VA Sales Tax

 

Tandem Kayak Rental 

1/2 Day (4 hours) – $45.00        

Full Day- $55.00

Plus VA Sales Tax

Group Shuttle to River Put-in (optional)    

Weekends/Holidays – $48.00/group (2-8 guests)   

Weekdays– $38.00/group (2-8 guests)

Considerations, restrictions and requirements:

  •  Total trip time including transportation to put-in location is 3.5 to 4 hours.  

  • The latest start time for this trip is 2:00 pm.

  • Minimum age is six.  

  • Participants should be able to swim.

  • There are rapids and various river features and hazards. 

  • Participants should wear river shoes, river sandals or tennis shoes. Flip flops are not recommended and bare feet are not permitted.

  • Participants should also bring water and sunscreen and wear quick dry clothes if possible. 

  • Transportation from the hotel to the outfitter can be arranged if needed.  It is approx. a 10 minute drive.

TUBING

Rent a river tube and cool off while you float down the Roanoke River. Great for groups who want to relax and have fun on a hot summer day. We provide the tubes and a shuttle to 2 different access points upstream to float back to our shop.  The shorter float typically takes 1.5 hours and the longer float is 2.5 – 3 hours depending upon water levels. There are rapids and various river features and hazards along the way.

  • Total trip time including transportation to put-in location is 2 to 3 hours.  

  • The latest start time for this trip is 2:30 pm.

  • Minimum age is six.  

  • Participants should be able to swim.

  • There are rapids and various river features and hazards. 

  • Participants should wear river shoes, river sandals or tennis shoes. Flip flops are not recommended and bare feet are not permitted.

  • Participants should also bring water and sunscreen and wear quick dry clothes if possible. 

  • Transportation from the hotel to the outfitter can be arranged if needed.  It is approx. a 10 minute drive.

STAND UP PADDLEBOARDING

Rental 

Rent a paddleboard and head to an area lake or river. You can take fully inflated or deflated and use our pumps to inflate once you get to your paddling destination. From our shop it’s a 20 minute drive to Explore Park, a scenic place to get out on the water.

Includes: Paddleboard, paddle, pump

Personal Floatation Device (PFD) and Dry Bag.

1/2 Day (4 hours) – $40.00

Full Day - $55.00

Paddleboard Instruction Trip 

Enjoy the water from a Stand Up Paddleboard (SUP) with one of our ACA certified guides. These trips are well suited to beginners and cover the basics of SUPing, from weight placement to efficient paddling techniques. SUP’s offer a great vantage point, as you are elevated well above the surface of the water, allowing for a great view of the rivers scenery. Time on the water is typically 1.5 - 2 hours.  

Includes: Transportation to put-in location, experienced guide, Paddleboard, paddle, Personal Floatation Device (PFD) and Dry Bag. 

Per Person Price    

2 guests - $80.00@

3 guests - $70.00@

4-8 guests - $60.00@

  • Minimum age is 12.  

  • Participants should be able to swim.  

  • Participants should wear river shoes, river sandals or tennis shoes. Flip flops are not recommended and bare feet are not permitted.

  • Participants should also bring water and sunscreen and wear bathing suite, and bring towel quick dry clothes if possible. 

  • Transportation from the hotel to the outfitter can be arranged if needed.  It is approx. a 10 minute drive.
